Author Guidelines
Important Notes
Please ensure that the manuscript has been carefully edited before submission by using grammar-checking tools, plagiarism detection software, and reference management software, such as Mendeley or Zotero. Authors are strongly encouraged to use the journal template provided by GENIUS INSIGHT ECONOMICS.
Manuscripts submitted to GENIUS INSIGHT ECONOMICS: Journal of Digital Business, Finance, Islamic Economics, and Development Studies must be based on recent research findings, including quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, research and development, or theoretical studies in the fields of economics and related disciplines.
The journal accepts manuscripts covering, but not limited to, the following areas: microeconomics, macroeconomics, development economics, digital economy, financial technology, business and management, finance and banking, entrepreneurship, public policy, international trade, sustainable development, creative economy, and Islamic economics.
Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work. The editorial team checks manuscript similarity using plagiarism detection software. The maximum allowable similarity index is 25%.
Manuscripts should be between 4,000 and 8,000 words, including the title, abstract, main text, and references.
ABSTRACT
The abstract must be written in English in a single paragraph and should not exceed 500 words.
The abstract should include the following elements:
- Purpose: research objectives and/or hypotheses.
- Methods: research design, data, sample, and analytical techniques.
- Results: key research findings.
- Implications: contribution to theory, policy, or practice.
Additional information, such as the number of tables, figures, or references, may be included if necessary.
INTRODUCTION
The introduction should clearly explain the research problem, rationale, and objectives. Authors are encouraged to structure the introduction into the following components:
- Background of the problem, including practical or theoretical issues.
- Review of recent studies to establish the state of the art and identify limitations in previous research.
- Research gap that distinguishes the current study from previous studies.
- Research questions, objectives, and novelty of the study.
METHODS
This section explains how the research was conducted. It should include the following elements:
- Research design.
- Population, sample, or research subjects.
- Data collection techniques and research instruments.
- Data analysis methods.
The methods should be described clearly and concisely to allow replication. Unnecessary formulas should be avoided unless they are essential to the research.
Length guideline:
- Qualitative research: maximum 10% of the total manuscript length.
- Quantitative research: maximum 15% of the total manuscript length.
RESULTS
This section presents the research findings clearly, systematically, and objectively.
Guidelines:
- Present analyzed data rather than raw data.
- Use tables and figures where necessary.
- Place table titles above the tables and figure titles below the figures.
- Use standard statistical reporting, for example: t(52) = 1.234; p = .05.
- Include effect sizes where applicable.
- For qualitative studies, summarize findings and present key excerpts where relevant.
DISCUSSION
This section interprets the findings and connects them with relevant theories and previous studies.
Authors should address the following points:
- Whether the findings support or contradict previous research.
- Theoretical and practical implications of the findings.
- Logical interpretation of the research results.
Quoting and Referencing
Manuscripts must use the APA citation style, 7th edition.
- One author: (Ilham, 2018).
- Two authors: (Ilham & Firman, 2017).
- Three or more authors: (Ilham et al., 2018).
Direct quotations:
- Quotations fewer than 40 words should be integrated into the paragraph using quotation marks.
- Quotations of 40 words or more should be presented as block quotations, indented, and without quotation marks.
CONCLUSION
This section should include the following elements:
- Conclusion: main findings and contributions of the study.
- Recommendations: suggestions for future research, policy, or practice.
- Limitations: limitations of the study and caution against overgeneralization.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, funding bodies, or academic support that contributed to the completion of the research.
REFERENCES
- All references must follow the APA format, 7th edition.
- References must be arranged alphabetically.
- Authors are required to use a reference manager, such as Mendeley or Zotero.
- All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and all references listed must be cited in the manuscript.
Reference Requirements
- The manuscript must include a minimum of 25 references.
- At least 80% of the references must be from scientific journal articles.
- References should be recent, preferably published within the last 5 to 10 years, except for seminal or classical works.
- Each journal article reference should include a DOI when available.
- Authors are strongly encouraged to cite reputable international journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, or other recognized indexing databases.
- Excessive use of non-scientific sources, such as blogs, Wikipedia, and non-academic websites, is not allowed.
