Author Guidelines

Important Notes

Please ensure before submission that your manuscript has been carefully edited using grammar checking tools, plagiarism detection software, and reference management software (e.g., Mendeley). Authors are strongly encouraged to use the journal template provided.

Manuscripts submitted to GENIUS INSIGHT ECONOMICS must be based on recent research results, including quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, development research, or theoretical studies in the field of economics and related disciplines.

The journal accepts manuscripts covering areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, development economics, digital economy, financial technology (FinTech), business and management, finance and banking, entrepreneurship, public policy, international trade, sustainable development, creative economy, and Islamic economics.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work. The editorial team checks plagiarism using similarity detection software, with a maximum similarity index of 25%.

Manuscripts should be between 4,000–8,000 words, including title, abstract, and references

 ABSTRACT

The abstract must be written in a single paragraph in English (maximum 500 words).

It should include:

  • Purpose: research objectives and/or hypotheses
  • Methods: research design, data, sample, and analysis techniques
  • Results: key findings
  • Implications: contribution to theory, policy, or practice

Additional information such as the number of tables, figures, or references may be included if necessary.

 

 INTRODUCTION

The introduction should clearly state the research problem and objectives. It is recommended to structure the introduction into four parts:

  • Background of the problem (practical or theoretical issues)
  • Review of recent studies to establish the state-of-the-art and identify limitations
  • Research gap between previous studies and current research
  • Research questions, objectives, and novelty

 METHODS

This section explains how the research was conducted and must include:

  • Research design
  • Population/sample or research subjects
  • Data collection techniques and instruments
  • Data analysis methods

The methods should be described clearly and concisely to allow replication. Avoid unnecessary formulas unless essential.

Length guideline:

  • Qualitative research: max 10% of the manuscript
  • Quantitative research: max 15%

RESULTS

This section presents the research findings clearly and systematically.

Guidelines:

  • Present analyzed data (not raw data)
  • Use tables/figures where necessaryTable titles are placed above; figure titles below
  • Use standard statistical reporting (e.g., t(52) = 1.234; p = .05)
  • Include effect sizes where applicable
  • For qualitative studies, summarize findings and present key excerpts where relevant.

 DISCUSSION

 This section interprets the findings and connects them with existing theories and previous studies.

Authors should address:

  • Whether findings support or contradict prior research
  • Theoretical and practical implications
  • Logical interpretation of results

Quoting and Referencing

Use APA citation style:

  • One author: (Ilham, 2018)-
  • Two authors: (Ilham & Firman, 2017)
  • Three or more: (Ilham et al., 2018)

Direct quotations:

< 40 words: within paragraph ("...")

> 40 words: block quote (indented, no quotation marks)

 CONCLUSION

This section includes:

  • Conclusion: main findings and contributions
  •  Recommendations: suggestions for future research and policy
  •  Also include research limitations and avoid overgeneralization.

 ACKNOWLEDGMENT

Acknowledge individuals or institutions that contributed to the research, including funding bodies or academic support.

 REFERENCES

  • All references must be written in APA format (7th edition).
  • References must be arranged alphabetically.
  • Authors are required to use a reference manager (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero).
  • All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and vice versa.

Reference Requirements

  • The manuscript must include a minimum of 25 references.
  • At least 80% of the references must be from scientific journal articles.
  • References should be recent (published within the last 5–10 years), except for seminal or classical works.
  • Each journal article reference should include a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) when available.
  • Authors are strongly encouraged to cite reputable international journals indexed in databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, or other recognized indexing services.
  • Excessive use of non-scientific sources (blogs, Wikipedia, non-academic websites) is not allowed.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
